5 most common weight loss myths:
There are many common weight loss myths that people live about their health and try to lose weight in particular. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish myths about weight loss from what is real and true. Many sound true, while others are just ridiculous. I once read somewhere that if you drink water in the evening, that you gain weight, or if you scratch your head too often, you will lose your hair…
Weight Loss Myth # 1: The more weight I have to lose, the more intense my exercise routine should be!
The Truth About Weight Loss: While an intense workout routine is great, there are a few things you need to consider: the first is that everyone is at a different level in terms of fitness and how much intensity they can actually handle. If you’ve been physically inactive for several years, intense training can be for you if you walk half a mile a day. After walking that half mile, you will find that you are sweating bullets and tired. However, a person who has been physically active for many years can walk half a mile without sweating. Everyone has a different definition of what is “intense”.
If you have an intense workout an hour a day, but due to the busy schedule of life, you only have 20 minutes a day, then those 20 minutes are an extremely long journey. It may not be classified as “intense” by your definition, but those small moments of cardio have positive health-altering effects.
Weight Loss Myth # 2: I can lose weight while eating what I want!
This is one of the most common weight loss myths. It is illogical to think that your health and weight would be in balance if the diet consisted mainly of twinks, chips and donuts. Sure, you can burn it off by exercising, but most people whose diet consists mostly of junk food are probably not disciplined enough to follow a training routine. I know a few people who seem to be in good shape on the outside because they are not “obese but have high cholesterol.
I would say this only because I am sorry to break the hearts of so many twink lovers. You can eat junk food, biscuits, chips, ice cream, pizza, burgers…. All those "soul-satisfying foods," but it should be in moderation. Anything extra is never good.
Weight Loss Myth # 3: Skipping meals is a great way to lose weight!
Weight Loss Fact: There are numerous studies that show that people who skip breakfast and eat less often during the day tend to be much heavier than those who eat a healthy nutritional breakfast and then eat 4-6 small meals during the day. This may be because they are hungrier later in the day and may tend to eat too much during the other meals of the day.
Weight Loss Myth # 4: I don’t lose weight while eating in the evening!
The Truth About Weight Loss: You can eat too much food during the day and not eat anything at night, so your weight will gain weight. As well as the fact that you can starve during the day and eat all night and your weight will still rise. The key here is balance. If your body tells you it’s hungry, you might want to listen to it. The truth is, overeating, even if you don’t exercise, will make you gain weight; no matter what time of day you eat. Whenever I am hungry at night, as is the case with other meals of the day, I try to choose something natural. Something like fruit, vegetables or I could even make myself a fruit smoothie. In those moments when I miss ice cream or something sweet, I allow myself it and I don’t feel guilty about it. Many overweight people live their lives in the power of guilt and shame. However, I give myself permission to get some MODELY.
Weight Loss Myth # 5: I Need To Cut Calories To Lose Weight Faster!
The Truth About Weight Loss: Reducing calories can be a great thing if you eat hard and fill your face. However, if you eat proportionately, cutting calories can have a disgusting effect. If you cut calories and starve your body, it will slow down your metabolism, or in other words slow it down, which can result in you not actually losing weight at all, even if you "cut calories."
Weight Loss Fact: The long journey begins one step at a time. It is natural to expect immediate results and even fear the road ahead; especially if you are very overweight. The secret here is to make SMALL incremental changes. Don’t expect perfection as it will lead to disappointment. You are never too far down the road where you can't see the sunlight ……
Have fun, be okay, drop the extra pounds and keep them away!
