I think lean madness has gone too far. My clients aren't only confused about it, they're disappointed, even deceived. They say..."I eat lean food, so why do not I lose weight?" "I count fat grams instead of calories, but I am still fat!" "Are not fat-free products healthier?"

 

 Focusing on fat seems to have gotten so much backfire now that we ’ve forgotten the calories. According to a study, we eat nearly 250 more calories a day than we did 30 years ago. Meanwhile, Americans spend more than$ 30 billion a year on weight management, much of it on diet and low- fat foods. 

 Many people mistakenly assume that because food is labeled fat-free, they could eat as much as they want. Instead of replacing fatty foods with low-calorie fruits and vegetables, they've invested in highly processed foods that have added sugar and refined starch and provide little food other than calories.
